Halbert Design

What is The Knight of Death Metal's weapon of choice?

Don't know? I'll give you a hint...

It's a halbert.

Halbert Design drawn by Willy Landon.

Now, let's make it.

Casting + Craig Barnes, Composer

In Ithaca, we are just about wrapping up our casting call as we make our final casting decisions after callbacks. Special thanks to all who came out, everybody did a great job. Final decisions will be made by this Tuesday and special effects make-up guru Matt Gonos be on his way to making the mold of our talents' legs and feet to connect the boys together.

In other news, Knights of Death Metal composer Craig Barnes and his ultimate Brooklyn-based band MiniBoone just released a stellar new EP within the past week! You can check it out and download it here:

http://miniboone.bandcamp.com/

Not only that, but Craig Barnes has also recently launched his own website featuring his solo work that he's done for film scores.

Work on this website was done for the films, Megabot: The Ultimate Z Bot Warrior (Brian Barnes, Joseph Roksandic, Jessica Ruoti), Kyler Solum (Brian Barnes, Chris Hampson), When I Learned What All the Hype Was About, It Was Beautiful (Brian Barnes), and the webisode series The Gifted Girls (4th Meal Productions).

As we gear up to shoot our own metal music video for the best fictitious metal band of all time The Knights of Death Metal, we're listening and watching to some of the sickest metal stuff the world has to offer us.

Any suggestions? Let us know...

Sound Design Corner II: Dream Soundscape in Images

A collection of images for our dream soundscape, compiled by Heather Pusey.

Sound Design Corner I: The King of Death Metal

In our film, the mascot of the best fictitious death metal band of all time, The Knights of Death Metal, comes out of its poster and wants to kill two young boys. The mascot is none other than a medieval knight in a full-fledged suit of armor with a badass halberd, ready for death and destruction. And one of the most perplexing mysteries of the universe that KODM sound designers Josh Berger and Heather Pusey are currently facing in pre-production is...

What the hell does a Knight of Death Metal sound like?

They may have found an answer in death metal itself. Take a listen to the rough sample of its footsteps.

Say hello to the King of Death Metal.
