Death To All - The Knights of Death Metal

Death To All - The Knights of Death Metal
The Knight came up from Hell
And He ruled with an iron fist.
The Knight will kill who He wants to, who He wants to
Or He ceases to exist.
And on this Judgment Day,
O’er the land come a clarion call
Those who follow the Knight will say…
Death to all.

Conjoined Twins

Aww... now isn't this cute? Look at what I found on the internet. A beautiful, heart-wrenching story about conjoined twins and their wonderful sibling bond.

MiniBoone Cool Kids Music Video

If you like posts that have nothing to do with The Knights of Death Metal, then here's the post for you.

KODM composer Craig Barnes has just recently released a music video via his band MiniBoone just this past Wednesday to coincide with the band's mention in "L" Magazine as one of the top 8 bands you need to hear in New York City (http://www.thelmagazine.com/newyork/8-bands-you-need-to-hear/Content?oid=1577810&storyPage=3). The song is called, "Cool Kids Cut Out of the Heart Itself," a song off their recently released EP, Big Changes.

Dylan's Side of the Room

Which is the best fake, fictitious death metal band? Besides the Knights of Death Metal, of course.

All of these posters were individually crafted for Dylan's side of the room for The Knights of Death Metal to avoid putting up copyrighted images and names.

KNIGHTS OF DEATH METAL STILL IMAGE STUDIO LEAK

SOMEONE HAS BROKEN INTO THE KNIGHTS OF DEATH METAL EDIT VAULT AND LEAKED STILL IMAGES!

Producers Alexander T. Sharkey and Brian Barnes have sent out lighting designer turned bounty hunter Tyrone Rhabb to deal with this.

House Location Scout

One of the great things about the script logistically speaking is that the entire Knights of Death Metal story happens within one location. The bad thing about this logistically speaking is we need full-access to a house for approximately 18 days to set decorate, block, pre-light, and shoot. And nobody's about to run out of their house for 18 days for us to take over. Sadly.

Here are pictures of one of the houses we're potentially looking to rent.

What do you think?

Death Metal Bowser's Castle Theme

What would a production blog be without some sweet links that almost have nothing to do with our film?

Except for the fact that it's metal music.

Casting the Cast

It's been a long, drawn-out process trying to find just the right talent for the lead roles for The Knights of Death Metal, but we have finally found the right kids for the right roles of Noah and Dylan. Just this past Saturday, we made our decision. Thanks to all who came out and auditioned! Everybody was great.

The next big thing that's on everybody's mind in this production is how we're going to conjoin the two leads by the legs. And it's certainly a good question. But, just this past morning, special effects make-up artist Matt Gonos has started giving us the answer.

Here is an inside look into the casting process behind making the prosthetic for conjoining Noah and Dylan...

Halbert Design

What is The Knight of Death Metal's weapon of choice?

Don't know? I'll give you a hint...

It's a halbert.

Halbert Design drawn by Willy Landon.

Now, let's make it.

Casting + Craig Barnes, Composer

In Ithaca, we are just about wrapping up our casting call as we make our final casting decisions after callbacks. Special thanks to all who came out, everybody did a great job. Final decisions will be made by this Tuesday and special effects make-up guru Matt Gonos be on his way to making the mold of our talents' legs and feet to connect the boys together.

In other news, Knights of Death Metal composer Craig Barnes and his ultimate Brooklyn-based band MiniBoone just released a stellar new EP within the past week! You can check it out and download it here:

http://miniboone.bandcamp.com/

Not only that, but Craig Barnes has also recently launched his own website featuring his solo work that he's done for film scores.

http://www.thesixtyone.com/craigbarnes/

Check it out!

Work on this website was done for the films, Megabot: The Ultimate Z Bot Warrior (Brian Barnes, Joseph Roksandic, Jessica Ruoti), Kyler Solum (Brian Barnes, Chris Hampson), When I Learned What All the Hype Was About, It Was Beautiful (Brian Barnes), and the webisode series The Gifted Girls (4th Meal Productions).

Sound Design Corner II: Dream Soundscape in Images

A collection of images for our dream soundscape, compiled by Heather Pusey.

Sound Design Corner I: The King of Death Metal

In our film, the mascot of the best fictitious death metal band of all time, The Knights of Death Metal, comes out of its poster and wants to kill two young boys. The mascot is none other than a medieval knight in a full-fledged suit of armor with a badass halberd, ready for death and destruction. And one of the most perplexing mysteries of the universe that KODM sound designers Josh Berger and Heather Pusey are currently facing in pre-production is...

What the hell does a Knight of Death Metal sound like?

They may have found an answer in death metal itself. Take a listen to the rough sample of its footsteps.

Say hello to the King of Death Metal.
